Governorship in local schools

Governance partnerships with local state schools:

The Headmaster is a member of the Executive Board of King Arthur's School, Wincanton.

A Housemaster is a governor at Sherborne Primary School, Sherborne.

A Mathematics teacher who is also Head of Scholarship is a governor at local state secondary, The Gryphon School. Connections have been made with The Gryphon through academic partnership and through local contacts.

A teacher of Business and Economics is the Finance Governor of Charlton Harthorne Church of England Primary School, Sherborne. Connections have been made with partner schools and through local contacts.

A matron is a Parent Governor at Okeford Fitzpaine Church of England Voluntary Aided School where she has responsibility in the areas of marketing and e-safety.

The goal of governorship is to provide support to local schools by the provision of relevant skills, expertise, and experience.  Connections have been made with partner schools and through local contacts. This is an on-going commitment which requires regular attendance, on a termly basis, throughout the tenure of the post. For the individuals concerned it is also an opportunity to give something back to our local community.
