Aims
To provide support for schools wishing to develop Forest Schools in their own setting.
Background
St Mary's, Colchester has a dedicated Forest Schools Teacher who delivers lessons to all of the Lower School pupils across the course of one academic year. The sessions focus on developing independence, resilience and wellbeing as well as linking to the academic curriculum areas of science and geography.
The Forest School teacher initially visited St Mary's, Kelvedon and worked with the children in their own setting before inviting them to enjoy the forest area at St Mary's, Colchester.
