Developing Girls Confidence - Creating STEM Ambassadors
The GDSTEM Conference held in September 2019 at Imperial College London trained up Year 8 female students to become STEM Ambassadors. The first day set them up as Bronze Level Ambassadors and they have been able to go to local primary schools to deliver science enrichment activities. The students can then work towards achieving their Silver Level.
Aims
The aim of this conference is to promote and enthuse girls about STEM. This is an area with a huge gender imbalance and one the industry is looking to address. By inspiring students from a young age and empower them to deliver the same message to primary school students we are hoping to overcome any misconceptions they may have.
