Candlelight Bursaries

Our Candlelight Bursary programme provides transformational bursaries to widen access and support pupils who have the promise and character to thrive at the School but for whom a Sherborne Girls’ education would not be possible without considerable financial support. Many of these pupils come to us through our partnership with the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation (RNCSF), who help identify girls who need our help the most.

Candlelight Bursaries are funded by The Sherborne Girls Foundation with a contribution from the RNCSF in some cases. The Sherborne Girls Foundation is a separate charity that exists to stimulate philanthropy to support the growth and development of the School as well as its social-responsibility activities.

At present we have seven Candlelight recipients in the School, and we aim to grow this number over time.
