Impact Statement

Two members of our staff give their own time as governors of local state first schools and use our resources and advice to assist in their duties. We have provided some surplus resources to one of these schools and also Head to Head advice.

We lend our minibuses to these schools at no charge, on request either for one-off journeys or for regular periods of weekly journeys over periods of 2-3 months. At least one bus was borrowed on 19 separate occasions last year, and on one of these we provided drivers for both buses too. The estimated cost to the state schools involved would have been £4,200 had they had to hire minibuses/drivers. However, it is more likely that they would not have been able to travel and the pupils would have missed out on the enrichment activities concerned.

We also paid for three teachers from one of the schools to have externally provided minibus driver awareness training at a cost of £360.
