The Greatest Britons

Pupils worked in mixed groups to research who they thought was the Greatest Briton and then present to the group before a vote was taken.
To stretch the more able pupils.
To work with students from another school to develop interpersonal skills.
To develop arguments and presentation skills in a time bounded situation.
Activity resources, staffing and lunch
The pupils worked in mixed groups/pairs where they had to collaborate with pupils they didn’t know and develop understanding of the significance of historical figures and justify their choices. They were able to improve their evaluation and interpretation skills.
