Primary Music Events

Our music department runs an annual large-scale event for several local primary and prep schools, with either a choral or instrumental focus. The day consists of rehearsing chosen pieces, supported by pupils and visiting music teachers from King's College, before a performance to parents and teachers at the end of the day.

Musicians from local secondary schools have also participated in our burgeoning symphony orchestra.

Aims

To bring together musicians from different schools and allow them the opportunity to perform as part of a large-scale event.

To develop musical skills, to inspire and enthuse young talent.

Resources

Performances at the end of the day are held in King's Chapel or in the Woodard Room.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils invited are in Years 5-8.

King's musicians and scholars are involved in leading workshops and supporting visiting pupils.
