Impact Statement
King's invites pupils from state schools in and around the area to take part in Music, Drama, Sport and Academic workshops. We also have some state schools that regularly use our premises.
Following a successful three years of partnership with Holy Trinity Primary School, the following impact statement has been given:
The partnership between Holy Trinity and King’s College has had a significant and lasting impact on pupils’ learning, aspiration and personal development. Through the formal Year 5 Enrichment Programme, pupils have benefited from a wide range of specialist experiences including Science, Art, Drama, Modern Foreign Languages, Sport and Design Technology, delivered by expert secondary practitioners in high-quality facilities. Access to spaces such as the drama studio and DT workshop has enabled children to engage in learning experiences that extend beyond the primary curriculum, broadening their horizons and developing their confidence, creativity and curiosity. The partnership was specifically designed to inspire pupils, raise aspirations and provide access to specialist expertise and facilities that complement and enrich classroom learning.
Particularly powerful has been the opportunity for pupils to work alongside specialist language and subject teachers, exposing them to new skills, high expectations and a wider range of future educational possibilities. These experiences have helped children to see themselves as successful learners, strengthening their confidence to express themselves, take on challenges and aspire to ambitious goals. Staff have also benefited from observing specialist teaching approaches and facilities, further enriching the quality of provision available to pupils.
The impact of King’s College Reading Mentors has been equally valuable. Regular reading support has increased pupils’ engagement with books, developed positive attitudes towards reading and provided many children with someone who champions reading for pleasure. The presence of enthusiastic role models has helped to foster a culture where reading is valued and enjoyed, encouraging children to read more frequently and with greater confidence. This complements Holy Trinity’s wider focus on reading engagement and has contributed to making reading a more meaningful and enjoyable experience for pupils.
Overall, the partnership has become a powerful driver of enrichment, aspiration and cultural capital. By combining specialist expertise, outstanding facilities and meaningful community engagement, Holy Trinity and King’s College have created opportunities that many pupils would not otherwise experience, helping them to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and ambition needed to flourish both now and in the future.
