Outreach Languages project
During the academic year 2014-15, we met with Stretham Primary School on a half termly basis, looking at ideas on teaching foreign languages and cultures and also on how to embed an international dimension into the curriculum. We discussed ways in which to establish global links and indeed in the Lent term, Stretham Primary chose China as their theme for the term. A group of King’s Ely International students and Jiao Ting, our Chinese assistant, went to the school and ran a carousel of activities which proved extremely popular.
To share ideas on teaching foreign languages and cultures and also on how to embed an international dimension into the curriculum.
Local primary schools were invited to attend, with Stretham Primary School attending.
King's Ely teaching staff, Lorraine Oldham, as KS2 MFL Coordinator, and our Chinese Languages Assistant, give their time to the project.
