Musical Theatre to Local Primary Schools
Principals from our College musical, "Legally Blonde," collaborated with our esteemed musical director and our arts educational partner, Arts International, alongside a professional West End performer. Together, they orchestrated a unique and enriching ninety-minute practical workshop and masterclass, extending their expertise to several local schools. The session delved into various aspects of theater and performance techniques, encompassing dance, acting, and singing.
During this immersive experience, students received in-depth instruction on performance techniques, emphasising the effective use of voice, actions, and character portrayal. The St. Joseph's College musical programme, characterised by its engaging and inspirational approach, not only cultivated artistic skills but also played a pivotal role in boosting students' confidence.
Beyond the artistic realm, the outreach program contributed significantly to the development of essential life skills. Students actively participated in activities that fostered improved communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. By combining artistic expression with practical skill-building, St Joseph's College aimed to provide a holistic and empowering experience for the pupils, fostering personal and interpersonal growth. The collaboration with professionals from the West End added a valuable real-world dimension to the workshop, enhancing the students' exposure to the standards and nuances of professional performance.
