Intergenerational Learning

Pupils visit a local retirement village on a weekly basis after school. They spend time getting to know the residents there, playing games and preparing presentations in pairs on a topic of their choosing.

Pupils have an opportunity to meet people of a different generation, as well as learning about different perspectives.

Elderly people are able to develop relationships with pupils and share their knowledge and experience.

Intergenerational relationships developed and the confidence of pupils to interact with different people is improved.
