ICT Consultation Work

Provision of ongoing ICT consultancy work to a maintained school in East Grinstead

Aims

The aim is to 'upskill' and support the development of their ICT delivery and infrastructure

Identified needs are a lack of ICT expertise, and no curricular plan.

They need an audit for hardware and an identification of what purchasing they might need to make in order to develop their facilities. They need a staff development programme for ICT.

The critical factors for success would be that, following a successful consultation, the school would feel more equipped in terms of knowledge, and empowered in terms of confidence, to press ahead with their purchasing and curricular delivery model.

Immediate beneficiaries are the staff and pupils and other related stakeholders at the school.

Background

A contact within the school approached our ICT director as a referral seeking some advice.

Commenced in September 2019.

Resources

It will form an ongoing series of half termly consultation meetings. Overall the project is likely to last for up to 2 years.

The most critical resource is the expertise and experience of the Director of ICT from St Margaret’s School.

There is unlikely to be a direct financial contribution though it is possible that over time St Margaret’s may bequeath appropriate resources to The Meads School.

Impact

The benefits can be assessed in terms of the future utilisation of ICT equipment by staff and pupils, and by the nature of their utilisation. Measuring this is an inexact science, but a survey of the staff and pupils’ perceptions of the appropriateness of the equipment and delivery model would serve as a means of identifying success.

Pupil Involvement

No pupil involvement - it will be staff only.

Frequency

Half-termly, for 2 years.
