Hosting events with local schools

Gayhurst School hosts a number of events throughout the academic year, inviting local school children to attend.

Gayhurst School held the first Interschools Cross Country Event of the season. 13 schools (state and independent) took part. The day started with the 'Junior Dash' for Year 1 and 2 children with 100 little athletes taking part. At the finish they were given a goody bag and bubbles. After that we had 8 races with approximately 100 children in each race. Children were given refreshments after their race as were parents who made donations to our chosen charity for the day. Gayhurst staff were involved, helping with parking, scoring, refreshments, team organization and marshalling.

Gayhurst held a Year 2 Roadshow as part of STEM Weekr. 42 Year 2 pupils from St Joseph's Primary visited Gayhurst to take part in a series of maths puzzles and activities, overseen by the Year 6 pupils from Gayhurst. The activities included work on shape, number and problem solving and were thoroughly enjoyed by both the Year 2 and 6 pupils.

Invites to local state primary schools, neighbours and residents of local care home to attend and watch Gayhurst Year 6 Productions.

State school staff members were invited to attend training sessions with specialist speakers and companies.
