Governor Support

Our Deputy Headmaster, supports the Ventures Trust as a Governor on their Educational Standard Committee.  The Venturers Trust is a Multi Academy Trust oversees 5 primary academies, 2 secondary academies and a specialist primary academy for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

This committee provide oversight of the curriculum and all matters associated with teaching and learning across all schools within the trust.

To provide support and expertise to enable the trust to improve educational standards.

Background

Venturers Trust a Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,500 pupils and 700 staff.

The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

Impact

The impact of this work and the work of the Educational Standards Committee will be judged by the Trust's Board. It is hoped that this support will facilitate wider and deeper collaboration between Colston's and the schools within the Venturers Trust.

Pupil Involvement

The Venturers Trust oversees the education of over 3,500 pupils from Reception to Sixth Form, including a specialist school for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
