Community Engagement
During Harvest festival, the Pre-Prep at Old Buckenham Hall School recorded their performances and songs, alongside thoughts and prayers from the Revered of Brettenham Church. The parents of the school kindly donated food for Stowmarket Foodbank and we were blown away by their generosity, collecting more than we ever have before.
We are delighted to be running a 'Baby & Toddler on tour group', each Tuesday morning. The parents can sign up ahead of time and come along to enjoy different activities around the school, such as; a Buggy Scavenger Hunt, Chickens and chat, Sensory in the sun and Sounds around our school. We keep the group to a maximum of 5 parents (our leader is number 6) and provide everyone with home-baked refreshments.
Aims
To continue the celebration of Harvest and community spirit during these uncertain times. To collect food for the food bank in a time when they are not receiving as many donations as usual.
To continue welcoming the local community into the school.
Background
We celebrate Harvest every year alongside Brettenham Church. We are delighted to be able to collect food to donate to different food banks each year.
We have been running a weekly Baby & Toddler group for 5 years, usually within the Pre-Prep. It is a lovely way to make links with other local groups and welcome the community into our school.
Resources
Parents and staff contribute to the food collection for the food bank.
We usually run Baby & Toddler group in a classroom in the Pre-Prep building and enjoy sharing our resources with the parents, toddler and babies who visit. Old Buckenham Hall School staff run the group.
Pupil Involvement
Children in the Pre-Prep, aged from 3 - 7.
We welcome babies and toddlers of any age. Sometimes they are siblings of children who attend the school, but we are lucky that other families from the local area attend our group too.
Frequency
We celebrate Harvest and collect for the food bank each year.
