Chilton Community Primary partnership

For the past two years we have enjoyed various visits from the children and staff at Chilton Primary School in Stowmarket.

The Reception classes created a partnership in September, which has continued into Year 1 and now into Year 2. They have enjoyed a drama day, visiting our library, a maths mastery morning, a music session and some time in our amazing outdoor classroom.

Last year, the new Reception classes also buddied up. They visited us on the one snowy day of the year and enjoyed exploring our grounds in the snow and warming up with hot chocolate.

We look forward to continuing this partnership and creating one with the new Reception intake.

Aims

To give the children from Chilton opportunities and experiences which they may not have in their setting. 

Background

In September, the Headmaster at Old Buckenham Hall School contacted the Headmaster at Chilton and asked if he would be interested in creating links.

This introduction instigated a communication between the Reception teachers and, once the first visit was made, they stayed in touch and the link has grown from strength to strength. 

Resources

Staff at Old Buckenham Hall School collect and return the Chilton pupils and staff in school minibuses. 

We use the facilities at Old Buckenham Hall School and specialist staff are always happy to help out and run sessions.
