Arts Discovery Activity
Children from Year 3 and 4 were invited to take part in a half day art session entitled 'Steam, Speed and Rain'. Turner's painting was used as inspiration and the children painted backgrounds before applying a silk screen of a steam train on top.
Aims
The aim was to give the pupils the opportunity to use the specialist art room facilities and enjoy a lesson by a specialist art teacher to enable them to experience aspects of the subject that they were unfamiliar with.
Background
After identifying an opportunity for our specialist facilities to be used, local schools were invited to participate and Ashdene School as well as pupils from Wilmslow Grange School responded to the invitation.
