A2 Classics Teaching
Head of Classics has been teaching Classic Civilisation and Latin to A2 students at Cheney School.
Aims
To provide specialist teaching to A2 students at Cheney School. The need was identified when discussing our other joint projects with Cheney School's Head of Classics.
Encouragement and participation in Classics studies at A2 level and beyond.
Sixth form students and the Classics Department at Cheney School. The teaching also feeds into the IRIS project to promote Classics in schools.
Background
The partnerships came about through discussions with Cheney at another partnership event by asking what Cheney needed.
Resources
Subject Specialist Teacher at A2 Level
No financial contribution apart from the use of photocopying and printing facilities at ISC school and the teacher is given time off in lieu to cover the time needed in the partner school to teach.
Extra preparation is done in the teacher's own time.

Improved A2 results and participation at A2 Level.
Pupil Involvement
No pupil participation by ISC school in the actual lessons but closer links have been formed with the school and more information made available about the Cheney School 'Rumble Museum', linked to the IRIS Project.
Our Librarian/Historical artefacts organised a contributed by us at this open day event, organised to promote the museum, she was aided by Yr 4/5 pupils at NCS. Boys who took part and visited - 10
