Impact Statement

The School participates in partnership initiatives with several local schools across a range of subjects and Co-curricular areas. Our facilities are regularly utilised free of charge and staff support offsite events and competitions in the wider community.

Our Sports Leaders work with a variety of external pupils, helping with physical education and Games lessons. This extends to support leading at events such as Sports Days, competitions and club training.

Within our Music provision, pupils have the opportunity to perform to the wider community at public concerts, charity events and directly to pupils at neighbouring schools. Our Chapel Choir annually connects with the community at Christmas time singing carols in the local area.

Educational Outreach and Support
The Year 12 & 13 (Sixth Form) lecture and information programme has continued apace with pupils and staff from local schools enjoying a wide range of topics from leading speakers in the fields of economics, medicine and science, in addition to a gripping talk from a Holocaust survivor.

The School has again participated in the local Carnegie Prize Book Scheme with several local schools from the maintained sector.

The School continues to offer apprenticeship, training and work-experience opportunities to local college and University students – students from the local University undertaking teaching qualifications and other educational courses have enjoyed placements within the Prep School and Senior School.

The School CCF Indoor Shooting Range is used by the local ATC and Sea Cadets. In addition, pupils from a local school are encouraged to join the Cadet Force at School.

Over the course of the year the School has also hosted First Aid training, Competitions and numerous Holiday Activity Clubs with involvement from local schools, clubs and other organisations.

We hold an annual study trip to the CERN facility in Geneva. Staff meet regularly to share ideas aimed at widening participation in Physics.
