Impact Statement
We have hosted and organised a number of mass sporting events including a Hockey Festival, Rounders Tournament and Swimming Galas. These events have involved 200-300 primary school pupils. From September 2018, a member of PE Department has visited 15 local primary schools to deliver sports coaching weekly. The schools have then returned to the school for a Football Festival and indoor athletics.
Three local primary schools use the school pool on a weekly basis. We provide the swimming coaches and allow the schools to hire the pool at a reduced rate.
We organised a Performing Arts Showcase event for local schools to perform to raise funds for a local charity.
The Maths Department invited teams from 10 schools to participate in a maths challenge event.
We have hosted Maths, Computer Science and Engineering Masterclasses in conjunction with the Royal Institute to provide a 6 week course to 30 Year 5 pupils from local primaries and 24 Year 9 pupils from local secondary schools.
Our Woolverstone Scholarship Programme is for our scholars from Years 7 -13, with scholarships being awarded in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12.
The aim of this programme is to ensure that our scholars are able to continue to develop their considerable talents by providing them with additional support from staff across the Senior School. Academic Scholars are supported to complete independent scholar projects, whilst Sport Scholars, Music Scholars, Art Scholars, Dance Scholars and Drama Scholars will enjoy scholarship programmes designed by the relevant Head of Department. These scholars are also able to access the academic scholar projects should they wish to do so.
Scholarships are prestigious and are highly valued by university admission tutors. The accolade, kudos and sense of achievement is considerable for both the student and the school.
