Breakdown showing fee assistance for this academic year’s intake into Year 7 and Sixth Form
16 new pupils joining in September 2022 are in receipt of some form of fee support. Out of these 8 are fully-funded places. All of these are means-tested.
Bursary support with school fees
We would like the outstanding education students receive at Godolphin and Latymer to be within the grasp of every bright girl who is offered a place here, irrespective of their financial background. We offer means-tested financial support towards the school fees (bursaries) to girls and families who are successful in the entrance exams and application process.
At the moment, about 10 girls in each year group receive means-tested bursaries; of these around 50 across the school have fully-funded places. Our ambition is to offer more places to bright and talented girls who need help with fees.
Bursaries are available for new entrants to the school and are mostly awarded at entry into Year 7, and Sixth Form. These awards vary from 15% to 100% of the school fees. Some pupils may be awarded both a scholarship and a bursary. We are also able to help with the cost of extra-curricular activities, lunch, school uniform, school trips and examination entries.
The school also provides short-term assistance to current parents where there has been an unforeseen change in financial circumstances; such awards are subject to the availability of funding and cannot be guaranteed. Current parents requiring support should contact the bursar directly.
To apply for an 11+ means-tested bursary you will need to complete and return our Registration Form; for more information and entry forms, please see our website: www.godolphinandlatymer.com. If an applicant needs help with the registration fee they should contact the Registrar. We would normally waive the Registration Fee for people applying for a full bursary. Students who are successful in the entrance examinations will then be considered for a means-tested bursary.
Assessment for a means-tested bursary is not based solely on earnings; we take into account a number of factors including income, outgoings, value of property if owned, any savings and issues affecting ability to work. All applications are assessed by the bursar on an individual basis; we do not use an external agency.
Scholarships
Scholarships are not means-tested and at Godolphin we do not award academic scholarships; all of our students have performed at the highest academic level to be offered a place here. We offer a small number of music scholarships at 11+ and 16+ and also an art scholarship at 16+ to the most talented applicants.
