Impact Statement

Academic Partnerships
As part of our PHSCE curriculum 30 parents from local state schools attended a presentation from an expert on developing children’s resilience and independence. The event was informative and lively and we received feedback from the parents commenting on the relevance and value of the evening.

Music/Drama Partnerships
Our local infant’s schools do not have specialist music or drama teaching; our director of music and head of drama were able to teach and share good practice with state school colleagues in their schools. The pupils also benefitted from the direct specialist teaching and were able to perform as a much bigger group when they came to St Hilary’s for the workshop. We had many positive comments from visiting parents but also our own parents on how much the pupils had learnt as a result.

Sport
Our specialist sports staff worked alongside teachers from local state schools to share good practice. The state schools participating in the Cross Country meeting indicated that this was the only opportunity their pupils had had to take part in a competitive event. We received very positive feedback from both staff and parents and following this one of the state schools uses the local recreation ground for cross country running during the autumn term. Lecturers at the sixth form college reports to us that the experience and guidance from our director of sport had had a very positive impact on the students and increased their focus on the course
