Impact Statement
Associates of Dance: Classes run for two hours Monday to Friday from 4pm to 6pm and from 9am to 4pm on Saturday during term-time. Courses run during Easter and Summer holidays. Pupils from local state schools are members of these classes and take part in the School performances.
The school supports Beanstalk Charity and pays for four literacy trained adults to teach young children in local state schools.
Two members of staff give substantial time to support the Governing Bodies of a Senior and Primary school.
Debating is a strength within the School and it has links with several organisations to promulgate the interest. The School has a specific pro-bono relationship with the debating program and PiXL.
The swimming pool is made available free of charge to local state primary schools.
The School supports the Goegnacht Charity in South Africa. It looks after children brought up in poverty on the Veldt farms. The pupils have volunteered in their holidays to help look after these babies and young children and the School donates a substantial sum per annum to pay for medical supplies and disposable nappies.
The School works in close liaison with Kingston Hospital in order to support gravely ill children. The Momentum Charity is supported financially by the School and also in terms of pupils and staff visiting the unit.
Our pupils, under a mentored scheme, help younger pupils in two local Primary schools to improve their reading skills.
A member of staff has been appointed to the role of Outreach Co-ordinator and she has already set up a Design and Technology and Horticultural link with a local primary school.
