Year 5 Maths Masterclasses

The Truro School Maths Department hosted three Maths Masterclasses aimed at Year 5 students in Cornwall.

Aims

The aims of the events were:

•     To promote a love of maths and explore maths in a way that is beyond the Key Stage curriculum

•     To provide maths enrichment for students with a flair and aptitude for mathematics

•     To engage with local feeder primary schools and those further afield in Cornwall.

Resources

Three sessions were hosted from 10am to 12pm at the school on Saturday morning including sessions on:

·         Probability 

·         The Mobius Strip

·         Using Tactics in Games
