Whole school outreach day

This year, for the first time, RGS organised a whole school Volunteering Day as part of their commitment to a Decade of Difference, celebrating their 350th year.

Each year group was involved. Activities included visiting local primary schools to help with reading and sports day. Some of our pupils went to a local school where the pupils have severe learning or physical differences. A group went to one of our local charities, Stripey Stork, to help pack all of the donations for their stationery campaign to help under privileged families.

In addition to this pupils visited another local charity called Loveworks to help with their foodbank warehouse. Some of our pupils spent time creating a pram race to raise money for local charities whilst others volunteered in nature to help wildlife charities. In addition, we invited local schools to our musical extravaganza, Hartsfest, to sing with our choirs and watch the music.

The day was extremely important for our pupil, not only through raising money and awareness for the several charities involved, but also helping them to see the importance of giving back to our local community
