Royal Institution Masterclasses

We are hosting the RI Masterclasses in Mathematics and Computer Science. We welcome pupils and staff from Chellaston Academy, John Port Spencer Academy, Lees Brook School, Derby High School, John Flamsteed Community School, Littleover Community School, Noel Baker LEAD Academy, Paget High School and the Pingle Academy.

Over six sessions students are benefiting from the expertise and experience of a range of professionals from organisations including Rolls-Royce, the IET, University of Derby, the National Centre for Cybersecurity, Interserve, the NHS and the FMSP.

Aims

To offer enrichment opportuities in both Mathematics and Computer Science

To encourage high aspiration on the part of pupils and collaboration between schools

To develop links with higher education and industry

Background

RI Masterclasses first held at Repton in 2018.
