Lesson Study Project

Highgate have used the lesson study model as a professional development tool both in their own school, and in partner schools over several years. The aim of the project is to develop sufficient staff skills in partner schools to ensure that lesson study can be independently implemented with long term impact on pupil attainment.

The focus of the lesson study project is dependent on the area of learning that is identified by the partner school.  It may also be linked to pupil / cohort need or professional development opportunities for staff.  In Highgate Primary School the focus has been raising attainment through oracy.

The project comprises of a series of research, planning and evaluation meetings and a series of three lessons which all practitioners are involved in planning and delivering.
