French Language Exchange

Students of French at Northampton School for Boys and Northampton High join forces on a Language exchange. Northampton High has  links with College Helene de Fonseque, Surgeres.  Our students stay with host families and attend school to experience French School Life.  There are also trips to L'ile de Re, Rochefort and La Rochelle.  We are now in the process of developing a Library Project with the school whereby our students recommend English books they have read to the French students and vice versa.

Aims

The aim of the project is to enable students to gain an authentic experience of French language and culture.  Nowadays, genuine exchanges are increasingly rare but, experts agree, that the benefits of the immersive nature of an exchange are hugely important for language acquisition and cultural understanding.
