Football Tournament for Local Primary and Prep School Pupils

This annual five-a-side football tournament is open to all local Primary and Prep schools and we were delighted to host 45 teams from 23 schools in September 2019.

Aims

This tournament is designed to allow local schools to meet together and enjoy a morning of football where the emphasis is on fun and fair play.

Background

The first tournament was held in September 2001 and continues to grow in strength.

Resources

The tournament is a whole school affair; Hampton teaching staff, as well as current pupils, help out as match referees and marshalls in the event. The Ground Staff prepare the 16 pitches required while the Admissions Team assist with the administration. The Catering Department ensure that no player, spectator, match official or assistant goes home hungry!

Impact

The tournament facilitates participation and enjoyment in team sport.

Pupil Involvement

The tournament involves over 270 pupils, both boys and girls, from 23 local Primary and Prep schools, from Years 5 and 6.

Frequency

It is an annual event held early in the Autumn Term. Every team plays a number of matches over the course of the morning in a round-robin format.
