Combined Cadet Force Partnership
In September 2019 Read School launched a CCF Partnership with a neighbouring state school, Holy Family Catholic School in Carlton, North Yorkshire. Following a series of presentations and assemblies to pupils the previous year, pupils in Year 8 were invited to join Read's cadet programme, which is over 100 year old.
Now in its inaugural term, 12 pupils and staff from Holy Family School travel to Read on Thursday afternoons to participate in drills and exercises with either the army or RAF sections. Pupils are also eligible to participate in the school's wide extra-curricular activities programme. We are excited about the collaborative project and look forward to the future expansion of this to other schools.
