Careers Fair

A careers fair for years 7 to 13 was hosted by Westonbirt School, with over 30 universities, employers and other providers in attendance. The event was open to pupils from a local state school, who attended in large numbers. Plans are afoot to open this up to even more local schools in future years, with an increased number of exhibitors.

Aims

The event aimed to offer pupils the chance to engage with a range of career, university, apprenticeship and other further education options from a wide variety of different employers, universities and providers.

Resources

The event was organised by Westonbirt's Head of Vocational Guidance, a member of the teaching staff, and took place within the school buildings. It ran for one day, involving over thirty different stands.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils aged eleven to eighteen visited the stands at various points throughout the day. Pupil in Years 10 and 11 from Sir William Romneys also attended the event.

Frequency

This is an ongoing yearly event, with plans to expand in future, involving more stands and inviting more local schools to attend.
