A Medal for Leroy - Black History Month event

Year 8 boys from Aldwickbury School gave a presentation about Walter Tull, the first black officer in the British Army during WW1 and the second-ever black professional footballer.

Aims

To extend historical knowledge and challenge perceptions of history.

Background

Aldwickbury School are providing their educational support to The Linden Academy and The Vale Academy's SMSC programme.

Resources

Each child was given a copy of the book 'A medal for Leroy'.
