Impact Statement

Across our ISSP partnership of 12 secondary schools, we work with students from year 7-13 on masterclass programmes, lectures, and GCSE courses that might not be available in theior own school such as Latin and Astronomy. Results show that students on these GCSE courses achieved at least 0.5 grade higher than they might have done otherwise. We hosted the final production and performance of a collaboration between ISSP and the University of York on a Human Rights project; increased confidence levels were evident among all students. The ISSP promotes social cohesion and gives our most able and interested girls the chance to learn and socialise with other like-minded students from across the city. Older students have taken on leadership roles, for example at summer schools and organising groups of students to do Human Rights’ projects. Mount teachers have exchanged good practice by co-teaching masterclasses in their chosen speciality with colleagues from across the city. The Princpal of our school chairs the Steering Group which provides a forum for cross-sector understanding
The Mount School York runs a joint GCSE Battlefields tour with Millthorpe State School with the pupils traveling together and the trip being jointly organised by teachers in both schools.

At The Mount, Senior School scholarships are offered depending on the year group in which pupils are joining the School.

- Scholarships in Year 7 are offered for Academic Excellence, Music, Performing Arts and Sport.
- Scholarships in Year 9  are offered for Academic Excellence,  Drama, Music and Sport.
- Scholarships in Sixth Form are offered for Academic Excellence, Drama, Music and Art. preprocess

Senior School Bursaries

The Mount School has a long history of providing financial assistance to pupils and their families through bursaries. The awarding of bursaries is embedded in The Mount School’s culture and is something in which we passionately believe. Bursaries are available for entry into Year 7 and above. It is our aim to reach out to those children whose families cannot meet the cost of fees unaided and offer them the opportunity to receive a Mount School education in the Senior School years.
