Impact Statement

Our teaching links programme seeks to widen access to our education resources and teaching expertise by bringing together local independent and maintained schools. Examples of these works are as follows: Our Special Needs Forum this year focused on Eating Disorders with speakers from BEAT and Dr Sandeep Ranote one of the country's leading consultants on this issue. Other projects include: participating in a programme of workshops for more able pupils from other local schools. These focus on academic and problem-solving skills across different curriculum subjects. Finton House has partnered Oak Lodge School (for pupils with hearing loss/impairment) which saw pupils from both schools performing and signing a song together. This year we were joined by Sellincourt primary school.

A bursary can pay for up to 100% of the fees for a pupil whose family is unable to meet the cost of independent school. The bursary fund was launched in 2007 in memory of Sally Walker, Deputy Head and Head of Special Needs at the school from 1999-2002 and Headmistress from 2002-2005.

Bursaries are available to children aged 7 or over on the 1st September of the year of entry (Year 3).

  • Bursaries for new entrants
  • Hardship awards for existing pupils
