Impact Statement

'Shine' project hosted and organised by Bromley High with four state schools. We hold Saturday morning sessions together and a morning of sport activities and an afternoon of musical performance. This helps to develop confidence, engagement and a love of learning outside the classroom. This involves approximately 50 pupils form Year 5 to Year 6 and staff from state schools. Activities include debating and singing, language learning, design, scientific and mathematical problem solving, outdoor forest school activities, teamwork. Pupils have the opportunity to mix with youngsters from outside their local community.

Pupils from the Shine project have qualified for full bursaries at BHS or succeeded in bursary applications to other local independent schools.

Pupils and teachers from local state schools attend and observe selected lessons in order to help with their GCSE/A level studies.
