Impact Statement

The School positively encourages the girls to become involved in a wide range of charities. During the year their collective efforts and those of their parents raised a fantastic £8,332.08 for a variety of causes, whilst at the same time building a strong understanding of the importance of charitable giving. Charities supported included:

• Support for International charities included Operation Christmas Child, WWF and Traidcraft – total raised was £818.20.
• Support of National appeals included Rennie Grove Hospice Care, Marie Curie, Children in Need, Sport Relief and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal – total raised was £2,666.68.
• Acts of Hope, a charity bringing education and healthcare to impoverished homes in the slums of India. The School raised funds for this charity throughout the year via the Christmas carol concert and Nativity play, greetings cards sales, a stall run by pupils at the Christmas Fayre, and a generous donation from a parent - total raised was £4,274.20.
• The School has continued with its regular outreach to two local homes for the elderly, with girls making visits to talk to residents and entertain them with singing, playing instruments and holding carol concerts.
• Developing awareness and support of other local charities including William's Fund through staff donations in lieu of Christmas cards – total raised was £121.
• Other local charitable support included to the London and Slough Run, a homeless charity, through the generosity of our parents with food and clothing donations for Harvest Festival.

The School continued to make its facilities available for wider use locally, including weekly use of the swimming pool by St Joseph's Primary School. In addition, swimming clubs (Swimwell, Beaconsfield Swimming, Amersham Swimming Club and Chalfont Otters) continued to use the facility.

The School invites local state schools to visit its Discovery garden as part of the Eco-Schools initiative and also invites local state schools to participate in a number of sporting competitions and educational days throughout the year. The School once more conducted shared training with staff from local state schools, including Safeguarding Training.

The School makes provision for 8 full or partial Bursaries per year, one for each main year group: Nursery, Reception and Years 1-6. Typically greater than 50% of all recipients receive 100% support and the majority receive over 50%.

Additional support is provided on a case-by-case basis for extras such as residential trips or occasionally SEN related matters. All 8 recipients can potentially benefit from this support.

Parents can enquire about Bursarial support simply by calling the School and asking to speak to either the Registrar or Bursar about Bursaries. We are always keen to hear from prospective parents requiring fee support.

All Bursary applications are subjected to means-testing through a third party provider that the School uses. Parents are required to expose all details of their finances both income and expenditure. The process is discrete as is the School on Bursarial matters and prospective parents should nto be discouraged from applying.

Applications for Bursarial support can be made at any time.

Sibling discount is offered for a third child in the School at the same time as the other two.

Financial Support is offered for all existing pupils where the financial circumstances of the parents change such that potential future hardship for the child can be demonstrated. Financial Support is typically a temporary response to hardship whilst the parents get back on their feet.
