Impact Statement

During each school year, Brighton College works with many local state schools on numerous events. These schools comprised 18 secondary schools and sixth forms and 11 primary schools

We have a full-time member of our Senior Leadership Team and a Community service coordinator who are dedicated to this programme, alongside a dedicated group of teaching staff designing and leading projects.

Brighton College’s varied partnership projects can be measured by the number of contact hours being given, with a contact hour defined as an hour of meaningful contact between a representative of Brighton College (teacher, pupil or non-teaching staff member) and a representative from a partner organisation. In total, 4324 measurable units of contact time were recorded in projects with our partners.

Brighton College pupils and staff also dedicate a substantial amount of time to volunteering on community-orientated activities. In each calendar year, pupils and staff spend around 7000 hours volunteering on projects that provided some kind of benefit to community groups in Brighton and Hove.

In addition, all our deputy heads offer six different schools the benefit of their expertise on leadership and governance, furthering links with our neighbouring state school and increasing the quality of our leadership and governance skills and understanding.
