Work with local charity Kissing it Better

Kissing it Better aims to make a difference to the lives of people in care and in hospital with simple ideas and through volunteering.

Due to Covid restrictions, we have been unable to visit in person but have organised Zoom calls, created resources and produced 'goodie bags' for staff, patients and residents.

Aims

The aims include connecting young people and older people through inter-generational healthcare projects. We also aimed to help improve young people's confidence, self esteem and communication skills, as well as seeking to end the isolation and indignities of old age by helping generations to understand one another

Background

This has been running in the school for 12 years.

Resources

Friday afternoon programme and visits on two nights per week with holiday visits, with support from staff.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils from Years 10 to upper sixth.

Frequency

Three times per week.
