Theatre in Education Project
30 Year 11 Students at Stamford High School devised and performed short plays linked to social, health and evironmental issues for Years 3 and 4 pupils. Approximately 90 pupils from St Gilbert's Primary School came to watch the performance at Stamford High School and took part in a Q and Q session at the end. A great morning that was enjoyed by all.
Aims
The aims were to provide an enjoyable morning of drama entertainment for the primary pupils, while allowing our own students to gain their assessment.
Background
This has been establised for 6 years, and takes place every Autumn.
Resources
The primary pupils are provided with snacks and drinks, as well as lilttle goodie bag as a thank you for their time. It uses the school's drama facilities. 30 Year 11 students and one member of teaching staff. Financial contribution of approx £50.
Pupil Involvement
Approx 30 Year 11 pupils (female) form SHS. Approx 90 pupils form other participant schools Year 3 and 4 (boys and girls).
Frequency
Yearly event. Will continue indefinately.
