Telford and Wrekin Schools Sports Partnership Sept. 22 - July 23.

Wrekin College offers its facilities to the TWSSP which works in partnership with schools and community providers across Telford and Wrekin to create opportunities for young people to reach their sporting potential.

Aims

To share our facilities with schools and community providers across Telford and Wrekin to create opportunities for young people to reach their sporting potential.

Background

Wrekin has been working with the TWSSP for a number of years now. Activities hosted at Wrekin College between September 2022 and July 2023 include:

·      Dance

·      New Age Kurling

·      Gymnastics – beginners and advanced

·      Arrows Archery

·      Mini Basketball

·      Tag Rugby

·      Aquasplash. 

Wrekin also hosted a PE Subject Leader Day Conference for Primary School PE Coordinators where 60 Active Minutes, School Games Mark and Inclusive PE were discussed, as well as a Cricket for a Teacher course held.

Staffing commitment:

·      Organise logistics of facility lease

·      Pre and post-event cleaning

·      Supervision while on site

Financial:

·      Utility costs

·      Cleaning costs

·      Staffing costs.

Pupil Involvement

Can see up to 100 pupils attending an event, from a variety of local schools.

Frequency

Usually 1-2 afternoons a month throughout the year.
