Sharing sports facilities

St Joseph’s College has built three five-a-side MUGA pitches and refurbished our swimming pool. Having developed these facilities we are keen that they are used not only by our own pupils, but also by the wider community. Redlands Primary School is next door to St Joseph’s College but has very limited facilities for outdoor sporting activities. We have provided the use of the MUGA pitches, swimming pool and PE teachers for over four hours a week for them to develop their PE curriculum.

Redlands Primary School is a multi-cultural community primary school (Nursery - Year 6). There are currently 237 pupils on roll (FS2-Y6) and 20 morning and 20 afternoon nursery places.  It was judged Good by Ofsted in 2012.  It has no green space and outdoor facilities are limited due to the restrictions of the playground.

Aims

To share PE and swimming pool facilities. The pupils at Redlands Primary School are the immediate beneficiaries.
