QE Connect Outreach Programme
Students from local state primary schools participated in various enrichment days organised and hosted by Queen Ethelburga's (QE).
Some recent enrichment programme days included:
Visiting students participated alongside QE students in summer sports such as tennis and cricket, before having a picnic together and watching our middle school's open air outdoor performance.
Visiting students also joined QE peers for a STEAM based enrichment day focusing on Volcanoes. Hosted by the QE Science Team and QE student leaders, the visiting children participated in Science workshops and worked in teams alongside the QE students to create and design volcanoes.
In March, approximately 20 children from a local state primary school attended a sports enrichment day. QE Sports coaches and student leaders supported students to develop their rugby and football skills whilst they collaborated with students from Queen Ethelburga's.
Approximately 20 students from a local state primary school attended an exciting Samba Drumming workshop hosted by QE. Working with QE students, our dedicated drumming coach and QE student leaders, students developed their confidence in various samba rhythms.
Some 25 children from a local state primary school participated in Queen Ethelburga's Kwik Cricket Festival. This included cricket development workshops working alongside QE students, hosted by our dedicated Cricket Coach and QE Senior Cricketers, before students participated in some cricket games.
A further 25 children from a local state primary school participated in a 'Big Draw' Enrichment Day hosted and facilitated by the QE Art Department and QE student leaders. The children collaborated with QE students to participate in several drawing games and develop new drawing techniques.
Queen Ethelburga's also organised and hosted an enrichment day themed around Healthy Lifestyles and Wellbeing for over 70 visiting children from two local state primary schools. The visiting children worked alongside QE students, QE student leaders and QE staff to participate in a sports workshop, a Five Ways to Wellbeing Workshop, a mindful walk of the campus and a cooking workshop.
20 children from a local state primary school attended a STEAM enrichment day organised and hosted by Queen Ethelburga's. Supported by our Science Team and QE student leaders, students worked in teams to participate in science masterclasses and create festive bath bombs.
