Primary School Visit Days

Pupils from local maintained primary schools are invited to special days to experience a range of subjects that are not usually taught at their school.

Aims

To enable local children to experience and enjoy, for example, science experiments in the lab, art and design in the Art Studio, Drama in the Drama Space and Design Technology in the Workshop.

Background

Many local schools are not able to offer the range of subjects that we do at PGHS and we wanted to give their pupils an experience of these subjects. 

Resources

Time for staff to plan and deliver the special lessons.

Specific resources purchased for some subjects.

Impact

The pupils all leave a the end of the day having thoroughly enjoyed their experience.

Pupil Involvement

Visiting pupils are generally Y5 and above.

Annually.
