Perrott Hill Forest School Workshop
The Forest School Workshop was held in the beautiful woods at Perrott Hill. The Forest School movement allows children room to develop within a safe environment. Children revel in the exciting Forest School activity and research shows that it enhances their independence and self-esteem. Learning outdoors enriches the curriculum and enables the children to blossom in an environment where all success is celebrated. The morning should be educational and fun and our aims are to encourage creativity and good team working skills. Four local primary schools sent a team of six Reception pupils to take part in this enriching experience. The Forest School Workshop included the following activities: Jewellery Making – using whittling skills, Journey Sticks, Cooking scones on an open fire, Creating Magic Wands, Tree Cookies – using sawing skills and Going on a Dragon Hunt.
