Kensington and Chelsea Food bank

The Redcliffe Community is asked to buy items for the Kensington and Chelsea Foodbank. These items are donated at our annual Harvest Assembly.

Aims

The aims are to provide food and basid living items to the needy. The number of needy and homeless people in the borough were identified. The success of our dontaion relies on good communication with the parents and their generous spirit. The needy and homeless benefit from the donations.

Background

The partnership was begun 5 years ago by the Headmistress and the Vicar of St Luke's Church.

Resources

The resources that are critical for its success include the list of items needed given to us by the Kensington and Chelsea Foodbank and the donations from the Redcliffe Community. The donations are stored in the Lower School and presented at Harvest Assembly in St Luke's Church. Teaching staff are needed to transport, present and store the sonations. The Year 6 pupils save their own pocket money and purchase items at Sainsburys during one of their lessons.

Impact

There is no formal method of assmessment for this partnership.

Pupil Involvement

All pupils and their families are encouraged to make donations - from Robins through to Wordsworth, girls and boys alike.

Frequency

This is an annual event that forms an integral part of our Autumn Term. It will more than likely continue in the future.
