Give Back Day

Give back day was a wonderful event where our Year 9 students hosted 60 Dormansland primary pupils for lunch and garden activities. 

Aims

This was an opportunity for our students to understand the importance of giving back and sharing opportunities and facilities with other children from Dormansland primary school.  60 children came along and had a wonderful carousel of academic activities followed by a picnic on the lawn. 

Background

As a result of the partnership with Dormansland Primary, one of our head of years suggested this would be a good opportunity to give back. 

Resources

Uses school facilities, teaching staff and pupils of our school and that of Dormansland primary.

Pupil Involvement

All year 9 pupils (aged 12- 14) were helping out and supporting Year 6 pupils (aged 10-11). 

Frequency

This was a pilot event and hope to do it again next year.
