French Theatre

We invited pupils from Powell Corderoy Primary School to join us to watch a French Beginners' Play.

Aims

We extended an invitation to a local primary school to join our Prep School pupils in watching a French Beginners' Play. 

Powell Corderoy Primary School is a local school with a dedicated French teacher and we thought it would benefit their pupils who are learning French, in the same way that our pupils enjoy hearing French being spoken by native French speakers.

Resources

The primary school were delighted to accept our invitation, but were concerned as to how their pupils would access our school so we provided transport for them to and from Belmont School.

Impact

We received lovely feedback from the school following their visit.  Their pupils said to their teacher:

' It was fantastic'

'I actually understood most of the play and it was nearly all in French'

'Wow what a school'

' I was pleased you chose me to go on the trip'

' They even gave us French pastries as well '

Pupil Involvement

Fifteen pupils and a teacher attended the French play and they were from Years 5 and 6.

Frequency

This was a single event, but we hope to explore other opportunities that we can invite local primary schools to.
