Broadstone First School

Four 6th form pupils offer classroom assistance for two hours every Monday afternoon throughout the year. Tasks will include reading to the children, individual help with English or maths, and general help to the teacher in charge of the group.

 

Due to the Covid pandemic - this partnership has been paused until the organisation feels it safe to accept volunteers again.

Aims

This is general help, rather than reacting to a specific need, but both the Canford pupils and the First School gain from the experience.

Background

Canford approached Broadstone and offered help.

Pupil Involvement

Four 6th form pupils are involved. A Canford teacher drives them to and from the school, but does not stay.

Frequency

Two hours every Monday afternoon throughout the year.
