Ballard School working together with local schools

Ballard School shares foreign language exchanges with Highcliffe comprehensive school. Annually our Spring Term lecture series (hosted by Ballard) are shared with Highcliffe School, Arnewood School and Priestlands School – all in the maintained sector. We have formal teacher training links with Arnewood and Twynham schools in the maintained sector. We also share gifted and talented activities with several primary schools. The Comenius Project (through the British Council) was established in 2013 and this has provided close links with 4 other schools in Europe (Italy, Latvia, Germany and Majorca). We have also begun a formal link with a developing school in Beijing, China. There are links to Hebron School in south India facilitating some staff support (visits to Ballard and resources) as well as fundraising here for Hebron’s music department. Since September 2015 we have become the host site for County Volleyball (weekly training) and our new Director of Sport is fostering several other community links (he was previously Head of Sport at Priestlands School, Lymington).
