Author Visit with Combe Down Primary School
The Paragon invited acclaimed author Katherine Rundell to The Paragon to talk to Year 4 pupils. Year 5 pupils from Combe Down school were invited to this exciting event. A huge success and inspiration for all involved.
Aims
We invited Combe Down School to join our author event to share learning and access to a relevant and exciting influence for the KS2 age group.
The event was a success with a full engaged hall of pupils, lots of questions asked, books signed, and photographs taken.
Katherine taught the children how to plan a story and to make exciting for an audience, as well as telling the room about her own very exciting adventures.
Background
The Paragon's aim is to share facilities, woodland space, access to authors and speakers and to help provide 'limitless discovery' to all in our community.
Our and Marketing Manager were keen to open the event to a wider audience and Combe Down is local to us. We reached out to their Year 5 teachers who were delighted to take up the offer.
